The Mary Pickford is a prohibition era cocktail, considered one of the classics. It was first created (and named for) for one of the most famous actresses of the time. Simple to make, timeless in its construction, beautiful presentation, and delicious.
1 part white rum
1 part pineapple juice (fresh and strained)
a bit of grenadine
a touch of maraschino liqueur
add all ingredients to a shaker filled with ice, shake vigorously for 10 seconds, strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
Though this may look like a pinky up drink, do not be fooled – it packs some punch.
